Vetrate Artistiche Murano
In 1984 in Murano, the company “Vetrate a Piombo Artistiche” was born, thanks to the owner Michela Ficotto, Stefano’s mother, who took advantage of the great experience gained by her husband Luciano, who since the end of the 70s had the opportunity to learn the trade of the glassmaker, working alongside expert restorers of the time.
The company has always stood out in the production and restoration of traditional Venetian windows; among the most significant interventions in Venice, we remember the Church of the Redentore, the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, the Palazzo Ducale and the Marciana Library; in Murano instead the Basilica of SS. Maria and Donato, the Church of San Pietro Martire, the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and much more. The experience acquired over the years has therefore allowed the company to become among the most relevant in the sector.
Stefano Bullo, almost for fun, joined his mother’s business as a boy, helping her with drawings and small projects, becoming passionate about the work and becoming the owner of the company in 2014, which changed its name, becoming “Vetrate Artistiche Murano” ( V.A.M.).
Stefano Bullo is an artist and master glassmaker, who lives and works on the island of Murano.
After obtaining a master’s degree with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, he participated in several group exhibitions and was selected by major cultural institutions for various artistic awards. Repeatedly chosen by the Bevilacqua la Masa Foundation of Venice, for the renowned “Young Artists Collective”; inaugurates his first solo painting exhibition in 2012 in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
His artistic career continues by approaching the path undertaken as a Master Glassmaker, taking over the family business of Venetian stained glass, which has always distinguished itself in the production and restoration of the same. Stefano can thus combine the family tradition and artistic stained glass windows with visual art.
Many of his works have been published in various magazines such as the “New Glass Review 39” and the “New Glass Review 40” and have been exhibited in various exhibitions and exhibitions, including the European Glass Experience, The New Glass Now at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York and the Bugno Art Gallery.
